FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Rep. Forster AppointedTo Georgia Technology Authority Overview CommitteeJanuary 17, 2005 -- State Rep. Ron Forster, R-Ringgold, chairman of the House Interstate Cooperation Committee, was selected by Speaker Glenn Richardson to be a member of the Georgia Technology Authority Overview Committee (GTAOC). As a member of GTAOC, Rep. Forster works closely with other legislator members of the committee (two others from the House and three from the Senate) to review the operations, contracts, financing, organization and structure of the Georgia Technology Authority. “I appreciate the speaker’s trust and confidence in my abilities to take on the responsibility of carrying out Georgia Technology Authority Overview Committee’s purpose during this next two years. I will also take every opportunity to spread the important message of the Speaker’s commitment on issues relating to streamlining Georgia’s governmental operations,” Rep. Forster said. Rep. Forster, a Georgia Institute of Technology graduate, also serves on the Appropriations Economic Development Sub-committee where he has questioned department commissioners on GTA line item charges in their budget requests.
